Boutique’s “Wart Remover Ointment” Banned

Phnom Penh, 4 June 2021: The Ministry of Health has banned the LNA Boutique’s Facebook account from promoting the sale of its unlicensed “Wart Remover Ointment”.

The Ministry says the owner of the LNA Boutique Facebook account, LNA Boutique, had been promoting the sale of its ointment without a registration number or permission from the Ministry of Health. The boutique was notified on 31 May.

According to the Law on the Administration of Medicines and the Law on the Amendment of the Law on the Administration of Medicines, any medicines or health supplements in the Kingdom of Cambodia must have a registration number or a certificate from the Ministry of Health. Promotions of these products must also be approved by the Ministry of Health, in the best interests of the consumer.

The Ministry of Health has urged people to stop using LNA Boutique’s “Wart Remover Ointment” as it cannot guarantee its quality or safety.

The Ministry says legal action will be taken against the owners of LNA Boutique and those behind the Facebook promotion.
